Diane has worked in independent film since 2007. In 2008, as an audience member, she attended a theatrical screening for a film competition. Many skilled local film directors walked onto the stage for a general introduction of themselves and their short films. What she noticed about the 15 people was that they were all men and only one of color. At that moment, she set out to change that statistic! And she did. She stood up there on many occasions since then along with other women and individuals of color.
She has completed over 35 short films as writer, director, producer and various other production roles and has won numerous awards for her efforts. Diane has written several feature length screenplays, including one that she also produced called PARANOIA. The film had its World Premiere at the 2012 Phoenix Film Festival and was picked up for distribution.
The Phoenix Film Foundation presented her with the 2012 Arizona Filmmaker of the Year Award.
Diane also shares stories as an author. Her 9th book was published in 2021. Her author website can be found at DianeDresback.com. She continues to be involved with both writing and indie filmmaking.
For seven years, Diane was co-owner of a video production company and has over 27 years in corporate Human Resources and Training experience with most of that time in management and executive level positions in the financial and travel industries. Formal degrees include a Masters in Adult Education and a Bachelors in Human Services, Counseling.
