Synopsis: Maggie Benter visits the studio of sculpture artist, Norman Manning to assist in identifying the thief of one of his most prized pieces, a gift for someone very special. Her patience with him may be tested but her resilience remains as she attempts to ignite a bond between the two of them.
Description: SPARK is a result of the IFP Phoenix Masterpiece Challenge. We were given just four weeks to complete the film with the only stipulation being it had to be inspired from a piece of art at the Phoenix Art Museum and be no longer than seven minutes. I chose artwork created in 1937 called Paris by Charles Biederman. Its disconnected yet beautiful lines led to a love story of sorts that takes place in the studio of a modern day sculptor. A huge thanks to Kevin Caron Studios for allowing us to shoot in his studio! A small but extremely hard working cast and crew brought my script to life and we hope to provide a short but touching journey for our audience.
